The Iolite was great in the very beginning. Heat up time was minimal and effectiveness was superb..but seemed to be a very fragile product.

Stopped working after about a week. Yeah you can send it back to the factory and blah blah but who wants a product that will easily malfunction in such a short period of time?? Regardless of warranty, returning and being without your vaporizor is just not worth it to me, efficient or not.

The iolite was basically made to smoke pot, its a vaporizer it doesn't burn the stuff so tabacos not gonna be put in it lol. The iolite VAPORIZES the thc on the herb. That means the better quality (stickier) the herb is the better its going to vape. People talk about the iolite just plane stopping? yeah that happened to me too, its because u flooded the shit.

Just turn it off wait 2 minutes and try again. For the people saying it took 6-8 min to actually work? You're insane. The iolite says 40 seconds to heat up and that is what it means. Your first two hits shouldn't be that heavy, but your second two you should start to feel it. (we do 2 hit pass) Depending on the quality of the stuff u have (stickiness) is going to depend whether your hit is more like breathing air or more like a semi hitting your lungs... you want the semi fyi. I've had the iolite for like 3 months (before it was confiscated.

At first we were only barely satisfied with it then realized its more suited to one-two person smoking, takes 45 min to finish the bowl, and the stickier stuff the better. For the kid saying he saw a little vapor.... you're not suppose to see the vapor.... unless u take a bigggg hit then u might see it when u initially breath out because its concentrated there.

Vaping gets you so much higher with so much less than anything else that u smoke, not vapee. To get the best out of it you NEED a good grinder and should fill the bowl up till u about about 2mm left at which combine the two pieces together and vape.
I used the device every other day when I had it. As for the customer service i dont know, as for the warranty , who would want to return this?

I agree with the other dissatified users. It just stops running. You have to go on line for instructions, which just say to empty the chamber and start over. So I tried like 5, 6, 7, 8 times, etc. No good results. Used 3 different types of fuel. Made no difference. I would only recommend this to someone who wants there vaporizer to look like a walkie-talkie.

It doesn't come with much instruction but for those who decide to look up how to optimize using this, its a winner! For anyone who doesnt need their hand held to figure out how things work, this is an excellent piece! It may take some research to figure it out but its totally worth it. Whatever you smoke lasts a lot longer using this than using a pipe or something of that nature. Great flavor, and is best to wait to inhale after it heats each time.

Yes, it does need depressed every once in a while, but it works great and I've had no troubles other than needing to depress it every once in a while. I use it on a daily basis, and its my preferred method of smoking. Very compact and easy to use when traveling! Worth every penny!

love it!

When we first got the iolite, I was frustrated. The instructions made no indication that you need to wait 6-8 minutes for the unit to warm up enough to get a good vap going. I thought it was ready in 45 seconds (new to the vaperizing scene, so I didn't know). I could see a little bit of vapor, but it felt like I was just sucking air.

I felt like I had just wasted a good $200. Not wanting to give up on it, I searched the internet and realized that I needed to let it warm up for 6-8 minutes. Once I did that, I fell in love! It's so easy, clean, portable and the high...perfect! Just remember to fill it with butane before each use for best results. Also, the herb lasts for a long time. I loosely fill the chamber a little more than half way and it's perfect for a nice long vape session with my love.

Try it out! You won't be disappointed!

Hi everybody... I'm writing this to explain the problems I've had with Iolite and to strongly warn anyone considering purchasing their vaporizer to reconsider.

I bought the device roughly 4 months ago. I've only used it on occasion, about 7 times if I had to guess.

The device randomly just stopped working. When turning the switch from 0 to 1, nothing happens. It just literally DIED and does not work.

I attempted the 'troubleshooting' listed on the website, however it was merely "let the unit warm up for 60 seconds before igniting" or "use better butane" or "depress the fill valve and then use better butane". The troubleshooting states to depress the valve with the included hand tool, which BARELY fits into the opening, and is a flat surface. Pressing a valve with a flat surface allows nothing to escape and is pointless.

I was instructed to depress it using a ball point pen, which also did nothing.

I attempted to email customer service twice, and got nothing but a questionnaire about my living altitude and type of butane used. I answered the questions fully, twice, and when I finally DID get a response, I was told that they do not fix the units at all, or issue replacements unless I still had my receipt. Most people don't keep receipts lying around for months and months after the unit works initially, so that basically meant "fix it yourself or you're S.O.L."

I was then told after contacting customer service again, to depress the valve FIRMLY with the ball point pen. I tried a FOURTH time, using more pressure, and the valve broke completely off.

So now I have a non-functioning (not my fault), broken (due to customer service's poor troubleshooting advice), iolite vaporizer sitting around. Iolite will do nothing to fix it or even replace it, despite my numerous attempts through email and their customer service line.

Looks like I'm out $100, and the company selling these faulty devices will do nothing to back them at all. Their customer service and troubleshooting are atrocious to say the least. If their product is so cheaply manufactured that it can only handle one type of butane, they clearly need to state that all over their advertisements to avoid customers thinking it will function normally (imagine that)!

To anyone considering an iolite vaporizer, please don't. They're cheaply manufactured plastic toys that are flimsy and barely even operate. Furthermore, if anything DOES go wrong, their customer service has a complete "Too bad, sucks for you. Figure out how to fix it" attitude.

If for some reason you are absolutely compelled to purchase one, PLEASE, PLEASE keep your receipt. Forever.

I'll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and if nothing gets resolved I guess I'll just be throwing the unit in the trash and accepting that I'm out a hundred bucks.

Same experience as Beverley. It's brand new, expensive and I would have to say good concept. I would not spend this money again.

I am going to try to return it tomorrow. Totally unimpressed. They will be selling electrical bananas next year.
