Vaporizer Review- Value for Money,
Portable

The Cheap Vaporizer
If ever there was a case of,
‘it does what it says on the box,’ this is
it. The Cheap Vaporizer costs less than
$10! Ah, I hear you say, it can’t be up to
much at that price. Well, yes and no.
Obviously, for under $10 you won’t get
whistles and bells, you will, however, get
an instrument that will allow you to
vaporize your particular herbal pleasure
rather than smoke it. And that, as they
say, is the name of the game.
By inhaling the active
constituents of plants as a vapor, all you
get is 100% active constituent. By setting
light to the plants and inhaling the
resulting smoke you get the active
constituents plus 100 other chemicals
-including several that are known to be
carcinogenic, that means they cause cancer.
So, if you’re really strapped for cash, as
long as you can afford $10 you can still
vape rather than smoke.
So, what do you get for your
$10? Basically, two glass tubes, one of
which is a test tube in which the other,
smaller tube nestles comfortably. Both of
these tubes are made of borosilicate glass –
better known as Pyrex – that can withstand
high temperatures. At only 3.5 inches long
and 3/8th inch in diameter, the
Cheap Vaporizer is supremely portable.
Other advantages are the fact that there is
no ‘wait’ time whilst it heats up and there
are no heating elements to malfunction.
Cleaning is a cinch, too, just wipe clean
with a cotton bud dipped in surgical
spirit. You might find that the vinyl used
for the mouthpiece discolors as a result of
the alcohol, however this is just cosmetic,
and the vinyl itself is not degraded.
In use the Cheap Vaporizer is
basic, as you would imagine. You simply
take the smaller tube out of the larger
tube. The smaller tube forms the
mouthpiece, the larger tube the vaporizing
chamber. Chop or grind your herbs finely –
this maximizes the surface area that is
presented to the heat and leads to more
efficient release of vapor (basically, you
get more out of your grass than you would if
you left it in big pieces). When the herbs
are ready, put them into the larger tube,
ensuring that you don’t pack them too
tightly – you are looking for good
circulation of the warm air around and
through the plant material. Put the smaller
tube back into the larger tube with a
twisting motion and give the whole thing a
shake, moving the herbs down and away from
the ventilation holes in the mouthpiece.
All that remains is to hold a heat source
about an inch to an inch-and-a-half away
from the tube at its rounded end (that is
the end opposite to the mouthpiece end), and
inhale.
As far as heat sources are
concerned, you have a number of choices –
candle, cigarette lighter, heat gun –
whichever you find the easiest and most
pleasant to use. Some people dislike using
lighters because they find that the butane
affects the way the vapor tastes.
So, yes, the Cheap Vaporizer
is cheap and you get what you pay for.
However, it is far better to use this cheap
and cheerful method of vaporizing than to
inhale all the rubbish that is produced when
you burn your herbs.
