The Vapour Room for Veterans With PTSD
Is anybody familiar with the concept of a vapour room? Well, it’s pretty self-explanatory. It’s one of those places where vaporizing is most welcome. For instance, the entire room consists out of several vaporizing devices, each of them different in size and scope. The Vapour Room recently opened in Oromocto, Canada. As an extension of Marijuana For Trauma Inc., this room was designed and built to treat Canadian veterans who are suffering from PTSD. The annual membership fee is literally ridiculous as it amount to only $5. Think of it as a support group with some herbal medication thrown in as a bonus. We think this is a wonderful idea.
Puffing In A Social Seeting
Veterans can hang out, talk to each other, have a puff along the way and maybe share a few laughs as well. The idea could have quite an impact in terms of social change. In fact, we need more stories likes these, stories that will emphasize the positive impacts marijuana can make to an entire community. Most veterans aren’t very sociable so we’re hoping marijuana will loosen them up a little, well, at least enough to talk to each other and share their stories. Marijuana For Trauma Inc. has been working on this idea for some time now and it is finally coming to fruition.
There are some veterans who have tried marijuana before but marijuana has been stigmatized to the point of oblivion so if any veteran was smoking it, he wasn’t very likely to share that information to the public. And that’s another thing to keep in mind. Most of these veterans will have to make that step forward and be ready to socialized literally surrounded by the vapor of marijuana. That will take a certain amount of courage on their part but considering the fact that they are veterans, courage is probably not a questionable characteristic.
A Game Changer
Another piece of great news is the fact that Canada has made another positive shift in terms of medical marijuana. For instance, Veterans Affairs Canada is ready to provide $300 to a veteran with a medical marijuana prescription for the purposes of buying a vaporizer. If that’s not a government incentive, we don’t know what is. We truly believe this is one of the best ideas any government has had in a while and providing their most courageous citizens with much needed pain relief in a social setting is almost revolutionary. We hope this catches on and become a reliable form of treatment in any country, not just Canada. Imagine the positive effects that traumatized veterans can experience in this kind of a social setting. It doesn’t just teach them to relax and forget about their problems but the whole concept basically tries to kick start their life again. It’s pretty amazing when you think about it.
